Ashankura was founded in 2012 to serve the migrant workers who migrated to urban areas to earn more to make ends meet. It has been in field of social welfare for more than a decade. Ashankura provides medical care, education, legal assistance and conducts recreational activities for these communities.

The migrant workers live in sub-human conditions in the slums in and around Bangalore. Many of these people work in the construction industry, building posh flats and houses. It's an irony that the affluent are oblivious, of the living and working conditions, of the people who built the houses and office they live in.
Hemant Kumar has dedicated himself, for more than two decades, to social welfare. A social activist, he co-ordinates with the state to provide the marginalized migrating communities their rights and basic needs. He is a man with a golden heart. He has seen the growth of many youngsters by ensuring they get a strong base in education.
Hemant has worked for 19 years with Concerned for Working Children (CWC). Hemant takes personal interest in managing and guiding others to a better future. He personally oversees his works. His aim is to provide a better world for the deprived.
Praveen Narayan Tumpalla is a journalist and a social worker. He is the man in charge of Franca Lingua Communication. He is passionate for community welfare and development. As the owner and editor of a bi-monthly publication named 'Bangalured Your Companion', he initiates social programs for awareness like ‘Bhrasthachaar Ko Thenga’, ‘Thumbs Down to Corruption’.
Praveen invests a lot of time and energy in trying to solve social problems face in the urban areas. Apart from publishing he provides consultation for communities, institutions and organisations on municipal solid waste management.
